I'm on my own this week, Julian is off to camp. I'm not sure if I will be able to do that. We fight a lot, but it's great to have a friend at home all the time. I fell this week and got a big cut below my eyebrow. It looks quite nasty but I didn't even cry. No stitches fortunately, but I will have a story to tell about that scar. I love going to gymnastics during summer and so splash days on Friday. At home I cook for mommy in my kitchen and make her eat everything.

If I do not nap during the weekend I get really, really cranky, especially after I've tired myself out at the squash court. Mommy just spend about half an hour trying to calm me down and put me to bed. I don't undstand why opa and oma had to leave again, what do you mean they have a house in the Netherlands ? I helped opa a lot with watering the yard and doing chores. And ofcourse he had to read to me every night.

I love it that my grandparents are here, I stayed home on Monday and on Friday to spend time with them. I go walking with grandma and help grandpa to sweep and clean. We have some great playdates with our friends in the neighborhood after school. I also read books on my own and make up my own stories.

My grandparents are here ! The ones without the dog; I sometimes get confused. I love making puzzles with oma and opa reads to me in Dutch. I tell them all kinds of stories and we go walking and play on the playground. Last week we were in the pool. I usually don't like to go too far, but I'm getting used to it. No water in my face though, I let Julian do all the underwater swimming.

Mommy had a teacher conference with Ms. Mag. It seems that I am very happy in class and am a good helper, the problem starts when I don't get my way ! But Ms. Mag loves me anyway and I learn a lot. I start distinguishing between right and left and put all my own clothes and shoes on now, without problems. I love reading Blue's clues books now and we have to do a few of them at bedtime.

It is a lot of fun having Julian at my school; then we can play together ! Although it wasn't really fair he got to do all fun stuff and I had to actually learn things. I'm learning more and more Dutch words which is good since my grandparents are going to be here in 3 weeks. I understand everything, but it's tough to speak. I am really hooked on Blue's clues and want to read those books every night.

When Julian goes out to play with his friends I want to come to, but he doesn't always like it. I think I'm 6 as well and get upset when I'm called a baby. Mommy is trying to make me leave my duckies (see second picture above) in my bed, but I keep on sneaking them downstairs. Especially when I'm tired I want them badly. People tell me I look a lot like my big brother now, but we are very different in our character !

I just don't understand why I still have to do naps. Or maybe it is because I get really cranky if I don't and mommy doesn't like that ? I'm getting really good at counting and pretend that I can read. I also draw smiley faces on everything; circle, dot dot, half circle. I eat all Julian's chocolates he got for Valentine's because unlike my brother I really, really like that.

I start using more and more Dutch words, which is good timing since grandma and grandpa will be visiting us in April. They will be here for Julian's birthday and I told them this morning on Skype that I know what Julian wants for a present: a little baby !! I don't think he's getting it though, everybody laughed really hard. I love making music and play the guitar. Ms. Denise wants me to try out the piano and see how I do, but I'm more of a "free form" musician.

I am very stubborn and everybody will find out too. At school Ms Mag has had to warn me and put me in time out because I keep saying no and so does mommy. I just don't like to conform to anybody's rules ! I play with my new lightsaber with Julian and then I pretend I am a Star Wars character. I started thanking mommy for all kinds of things; guess she likes it, but she was very surprised when I told her this morning" thank you mommy for letting me poop on your potty " :)

I wasn't too happy that I had to go back to school and cried when daddy dropped me off. Luckily that only lasted a few minutes and now I can't wait to get to school again. My favorite thing is to mop or sweep the floor, I am a great helper. I play Star Wars with Julian, we have our own lightsabers and love to fight. Mom gave me her old recorder (blokfluit) and so now I play that when Julian plays the piano. He doesn't like it, but I do !

I need a lot of sleep with these holidays ! It is just too busy, so I spent a lot of time in bed. But we did lots of fun stuff like unwrapping lots of presents and playing with my new toys. Julian and I play Star Wars all the time too. We saw 2 movies; I liked Alvin, but wasn't too happy with the Christmas Carol, that was scary ! I also didn't like the fireworks too much and had mommy put me to bed after that so I missed new year's. I am very good at making puzzles and I make up my own rules when we play games.

I love this month, because it's nothing but presents for me ! Even today I got some belated birthday presents. Santa Claus came to school and he gave me a candy cane. I told him I wanted a skateboard and a book for christmas, we will see. We went to Solomon's party yesterday and roasted marshmallows and did games, that was fun. Today we had all these kids visiting including lots of girls, so that was even better. The tree is up and I love the lights. I have a very small tree with lights in my own room that we turn on when I go to bed.

I'm finally 3 ! Although, I've been telling Julian that I'm 6 and he is 3, sometimes I just get confused. Sinterklaas was in town; I met him, but was too shy to go and shake hands with him. I liked that I got candy from him though and at night presents !! We had snow on Friday and it was very cold; they made me wear this big jacket, but I was not cold. Today was my party, several friends came and mommy made me a Pirate ship cake, that was very cool.

I love playing with all the older kids, I can hold my own, but sometimes they don't want to take me along. But Amelia and Amanda were really happy to have a little brother for a few hours and Sasha feels the same way. Then today I played with Alec and Michael, but they are a little rough. Julian went with me this week to school, that was fun. We are getting ready for christmas, so I'm rehearsing Jingle bells and other christmas songs. We also sing Sinterklaas songs and ofcourse happy birthday since I will be 3 next week !

Why do they always want me to sleep ? There is a lot to do and mess up, no way I'm going to take a nap to give my mom a break ! Its almost my birthday, I'm really looking forward to that. I want a pirate birthday, I can say Aaargh really well and I fight well too with my sword. We put our shoe up last Sunday for Sinterklaas and guess what, I got a present and candy, that is amazing. I know recognize Sinterklaas and want to see dvd's to make sure he's still here.

I like to play rough with my brother, but am always surprised that we end up fighting, why is that ? I am getting really good at making puzzles, mommy noticed, better than my brother was at this age. This morning I saw Sinterklaas on a boat with all these other guys. I don't quite understand it yet, but I think it involves presents and lots of candy; always good for me !

I've been traveling quite a lot; now I've been to San Francisco, that was fun. We went over the bridge by bike and I didn't have to do a thing ! It was so relaxing I actually fell asleep. I was with the babies and helped my caretakers do all kinds of stuff and everybody thought I was so cute ! I'm starting to change my speech; from all English I'm now changing into English and one word Dutch per sentence. So it's ; move over, I don;t have any plek....:) We bought some really cool toys yesterday without Julian and when I wanted to tell him about it later mommy changed the subject, very strange !

I can do everything by myself; including dressing, putting my shoes on (and off), but this week I had a lot of help because Hanneke was visiting and she really liked to play with me. It was sad when she had to leave. I have a little backpack that I want to carry everywhere, like today when we went to the park. So mommy packed our food and drinks in my backpack. We are playing pirates a lot; I will be a pirate for Halloween so I have to practice !

I don't understand why I cannot just eat candy and fruit and dessert for dinner ? Mommy wanted me to eat potatoes and meat and red cabbage, bleh, so then I had to go to bed. That was ok, I was very tired today (no nap). We were out all day yesterday in the museum and I got to play with boats and get all wet. I also played instruments and sat in an ambulance. I really want to play Wii, but it's still too hard for me, so I just sit and pretend to play.

I'm getting used to my new class and now I'm doing really good. I love doing Montessori work and playing with blocks and farm animals. This weekend I had some quality time with mommy, we went to a market where I could taste all kinds of things (I especially liked the macaroons) and paint and jump. They also had music and I supported them by playing airguitar and airdrums, everybody thought it was brilliant. Then we went to a real farm with kangaroos and camels and mini horses. I got to pet the baby kangaroo, she was really cute. Today I went to Grace's party so I had a pretty busy weekend.

I moved up a group at school and are now with Ms. Mag. She tells me I have some issues with discipline, whomever came up with that ? I can play in the big playground now and am with kids from 3 to 5, so it's a little early, but otherwise I get bored.

Mommy made a mistake when we went to the hairdresser and now all my hair is gone. I look like 2 years older now. It was cool though, because they put colored gel in my hair (see picture above) and everybody says I look a lot more like my brother now. I had a good day with mommy yesterday even though she's sick. We made puzzles and pretended to be sleeping (at least I did, I think she really slept) and then we played with my Thomas train. Today I went with daddy and Yannick; got a lego firetruck and got to eat with the sharks.

It's been weird at school this week because Julian left. So now I get dropped off first and picked up last ! But I'm happy with my friends in class and I don't protest when they leave me. It's also been great because we have company; Xanne and Tim are visiting us so when they're here it's fun to play all together. We went swimming and had a playdate too and tonight we went for dinner and I ate almost all my pizza.

I'm back from vacation. I think the best thing is that if we stay in a hotel I can use the bed as a trampoline and jump real high (mommy and daddy don't approve though). I because friends with Naish, the dog and played with grandma and grandpa. We baked cookies and splashed in the little pool. I didn't cared a lot about swimming in the cold lake, but really liked to throw stones in the water. I'm very tired now, because I really did not get enough sleep (and no naps almost) during the vacation and this weekend !

I guess I'm officially potty trained now during the day. I do number 1 and 2 on the potty and am very proud of myself. We had some more swimming lessons and now I really enjoy being in the water (which is a good thing according to mommy since I will be on the water during our vacation). I jump and let myself fall in the shallow end, and blowing bubbles is not an issue anymore. Now that mommy has to work a few hours on Friday I get to enjoy splashday at school, that is so much fun !

Well, I did improve my behavior, only 3 pairs of underpants this week and I think Solomon did better too. I went to a concert yesterday. It was so great because they had violas (violins) and drums and also a guy that did weird stuff with his hands. I could do that a lot better ! It;s been very hot this week so we spent a lot of time in the pool. I am now okay with falling in the water and jumping in. But that whole bubble blowing is just too hard.

This week I had some setbacks, mommy had to wash about 20 pair of underwear because I just "forgot" to go to the potty. My friend Solomon and I made a pact, at least, that's what the adults think, because he did the exact same thing. My friend Harry had a party yesterday, we were at a gym where we could play and jump and be silly and then we had great chocolate muffins ! I got my hair cut, it was really long. It's still not as short as Julian's, but way better now. I was such a good buy at the barber that I got a lollipop.

I can test my mom pretty good, I will tell her no and then smile. It used to work, but not anymore ! Now she counts (1,2,3) and then I'm either in time-out or in bed, dang ! Today I helped mommy and Julian, Julian washed the dishes and I dried them, it was pretty good too according to quality control (mommy). I love helping out. I dressed myself this week too ! My shirt was backwards, and my pants inside out, but mommy didn't help at all ! When I wake up from nap, I put on any pants I can find, my fashion sense still needs to be developed though :)

Mommy is back !! I get very possesive when she is here again and tell everybody "my mommy !". We went to the playground on Friday but it was really hot, the pool yesterday was way better. First I went swimming with daddy, we blew bubbles and did games and songs and then they just carried me in the big pool. Alexandra came at night and she gave me a present' a blue cuddle fish, so sweet. Today we went biking when it was a little cooler, I try to pedal, but like it better when they push me. But I did applaud very loud for Julian when he managed to ride on 2 wheels.

Since they took out the side of my crib I'm having some trouble staying in my bed. Mostly I get out and go to Julian because that is so much fun, but yesterday I got out and nobody heard me so when mommy and daddy went to bed, they found me at the top of the stairs with my duck and blanket ! I played soccer with mommy on Friday, she was quite impressed,I can kick that ball very far, but then I always fall down. We also went to a party with a pool, but I did not want to go in, it was fun enough to play with a ball at the side of the pool.

We went on a roadtrip this week, I can keep myself pretty busy with books or just talking to myself but Julian always starts a fight. We went swimming even though I was cold all the time. We went in a boat, that was great, we also saw some caves, that was kind of scary but I was close to mommy in the sling; she got a good workout !

Mommy is back ! It was fun with daddy, but it's great to have everybody home again. I got some new Duplo from daddy though in the Lego store and we rode the caroussel and the ferris wheel in Kemah. I did not like the waterfountains. Yesterday I had a party from my friend Emily. It was a lot of fun especially since my friend Solomon was there too. We jumped and played basketball (mommy was amazed that I actually bounced the ball !) and went down a big slide. Another party today, so that's good. My bed is not a crib anymore, they took out the side, so now it's a big boy bed. Oh, no a big girl bed, I keep telling mommy that I'm a big girl.:)

Just give me some music and I'm the happiest kid on the block, so the fact that there was a band today at the party was the best. I also liked riding the pony and the balloons, oh and don't forget the baked beans ! On Friday we played at the park with some new kids, that was fun and then I went to Lynda and tried to play with Scrappy the cat. She is not the most sociable pet though. We went to sweet tomatoes and I thought it was fun to throw up because mommy told me to eat my macaroni and I didn't want that. Ofcourse I did ask for dessert afterwards.

My teachers found out that I had a favorite word this week: NO. I did not listen and threw things and had a lot of time outs ! Maybe it was because daddy was gone again, who knows. I did like playing in the park on Friday with mommy, I love the slides and the big swing. I also had to walk a little, but that was fine since we played stop and go. I had a great time at the zoo, the girl taking care of me wanted to come and babysit me too ! Yesterday I had fun with Rachel and Barbara, I loved the music, but did not like the food excep for Julian's blue icecream !

When somebody has a birthday I have a birthday too, right ? At least that's what I think. I helped Julian unpack his presents, but was not too happy when they turned out to be for him ! I've been going to school 4 days a week now. It is fine, but I sometimes still cry when daddy leaves. I've been going to the potty and are pretty good about it. There are still accidents though, so easy with a pull up. I'm not allowed to bring my ducky downstairs anymore, so I give it a hug and a kiss and then leave it in the bed, and I'm so happy when I get back home and cuddle with it.

I don't really get it yet, what is the deal with all these eggs ? As far as I'm concerned you can just give me the chocolate without having to look for it. I got some this morning and ate about 3 chocolate bunnies before breakfast, that's probably why I did not want to eat my dinner tonight....Julian plays "robot" with me which means that I lie on a blanket and he tows me around the house, very funny. I also like to play the guitar with him, especially now daddy has an extra guitar without strings !

Wow, I just love parties and playdates so I got enough of that this weekend again. Yesterday I went with Julian to a party and today was Julian's party. They wouldn't let me climb, but I had fun throwing the rubber pieces around (and chewing on it). When mommy does something for me I tell her " that is so sweet mommy" and that makes her laugh. At school I got time out because I hit a friend. He hit me first, but I guess that doesn't matter.

Well, every week somebody is gone; now daddy left for a week. Luckily he didn't leave until late Monday and mommy came home so I did not have to go to school. I learned 2 new songs; Old McDonald had a horse (moo is what my horse says) and ABC. I just get confused with the letters now and then, but I know LMNOP and XYZ, that is something. I also can count from 1 to 6, sometimes to 11. Ms Mel told mommy that I am pretty good in general, but I have a very angry look I try on her sometime but she doesn't care and looks back angry at me. I love playing with my friends and yesterday I saw Lily and Kayla and Payton (he's a little rumbunctious, just like me, so we get along great).

I'm so glad my mommy is back and I told daddy bye bye right away, even though he is not leaving till tomorrow. My long weekends are almost over, daddy will go back to work fulltime in April so I will surely miss my daddy Mondays. Yesterday I had a good time with my third opa and oma, Joop and Mildred. We saw donkeys and horses and bunnies and all kind of other animals. I also went into a flying elephant with daddy. I am a little scared of lawnmowers nowadays, they make just too much noise.

I am a true monkey, I will climb on anything, helped by chairs, stools and tables and have no fear. I also do the rock climbing wall in the park where some kids that are way older than I am cannot go up. I have been going to the potty, but honestly, it's a lot of work ! I do it for Ms. Mel, but at home, I just wing it. Today I saw a friend in the park, mommy thought I was making it up, but I was right, I know all the kids in my class by name. I have my first birthday party next Saturday. Mommy is traveling so I'm hoping daddy will take me.

I love talking and singing so I do it all the time. Mommy and daddy sometimes have to laugh really hard because I have all these stories to tell and repeat everything they say. I got my hair cut too, but not too short, mommy doesn't like that. Julian and I play a lot in our tent, or we turn around our chairs and hide under that. The best is if Julian puts on some drumming music and then we both pretend to be really famous drummers.

Everything Julian does, I have to do too. Even if it means that I have to climb a big rockwall, or go down a high slide, I am fearless ! I am really very silly sometimes, mommy calls me a clown. I like to make people laugh and do silly steps and say silly things. I also like repeating really hard words now. I have been going to the potty at home and at school and I poop at school, so that's very nice for my teacher ms. Mel, she doensn't have to clean me that much anymore.

Mommy was traveling again so I got plenty of time with daddy but had to go to school on Friday which I don't mind. I had to throw up one night but other than that it was okay. Mommy comes back and decided I need to be potty trained. I like the cool underwear (I have Bob the builder, Thomas, trains, cars, dinosaurs), but will do only a few drops in the toilet and then pee in the underpants. Oh well, I just turned 2 ! I really do not like veggies, except for corn, peas and cooked carrots and broccoli. My mom tried to feed the raw versions to me today, but that just is not happening !

I really like my time alone with mommy and daddy on Monday and Friday, but sometimes I just want to go with Julian to school. I now know my friends' names; Lorelai and Solomon are the ones I play with lot. I want to play with Julian's friends too, but they are a little too rough. I'm having some trouble sometimes sleeping on my own again, because Julian moved back to his room. Luckily I'm very tired most nights and don't even care.

What a difference with even a few months ago, I know that I can talk so I hardly ever stop. I also pick up some bad stuff like "god sake" and mommy and daddy don't like that ! I now will ask for Nederlandse kaas (Dutch cheese), no american stuff for me. When I want somebody's attention I start with: " papa/mama, then pappy/mammy" they usually listen by that time. Today I played with Julian and Sasha in the backyard. It's so much fun to join them for big kid games like shooting water into the neighbor's yard !

My favoite color is blue, so I call everything blue too, my food, the car, my toys. Sometimes I will say blauw-wit (blue white), because that is what mommy taught me in the swimmingpool, but I guess there are more colors. Unlike my big brother I'm not an easy eater. There is a lot I don't like, I love breakfast and will eat yoghurt, rice pudding, bread and a bagel for that, but dinner is not great. I do like fruit, but that is so much work. When I come home from school mommy has to keep me upside down because I have mulch everywhere, in my pants and diaper, in my hair so it's bathtime every day.

I'm not sick anymore, but still have a runny nose and I prefer to wipe it with my sleeve, mommy doesn't approve. At school we started doing left and right and mommy was very surprised when she heard me singing Jingle Bells and Happy Birthday in the car. She thought my only repertoire was ABC and twinkle, twinkle ! Sometimes I sneak around and steal candy and then hide under the table to eat them. Then my parents try and find me. Daddy lost me one time too when I had locked myself in the pantry, hi, hi. I am generous enough now that I let mommy take my quak-quak (his ducky), for washing. But I want it right back !

I'm not quite okay yet, had to throw up a few times this week and stayed home with mommy. At least I'm eating again, but not a lot. I went back to Ms. Mel at school and that was okay. I am using a lot of words now, including verbs, which is a first. I love building towers and houses with my Duplo and driving my cars through the whole house. If mommy lets me I also help clean the house.

Yes, I went to the Netherlands too ! It was my second trip, but the first one was when I was 5 months old, so I didn't get a lot out of that. It was fun now, I got to see everybody and my Dutch improved on a daily basis. I struggled with mommy and daddy about walking (I like to be held), but found out that walking and running is fun to do as well. Now I don't want to sit down anymore. I played with opa and my nieces took good care of me. I got lots of books from everybody so my bookcase is filling up. Oh, and I celebrated my 2nd birthday too right before we left and my other grandparents were here right before that.

I say so many words now, but sometimes I'm still hard to understand. I truncate (side for outside, stairs for upstairs) but start using verbs now as well. I had Thanksgiving lunch with Julian's class, that was fun and I ate 3 plates full of mashed potatoes and corn. My other grandparents are here now and I have shown them already how good I can drum and play all kinds of instruments. I love for opa and oma to play with me and read me books.

I would be racking up the airmiles if I would fly in a seat, but no, my parents are too cheap so I have to be a "lapchild" for now. Nevertheless I got to go to Denver and play there, that was fun. I had a really sweet girl looking after me and we did crafts and she liked me a lot. We also went to lots of parties with balloon artists and music and dancing. My hair is so long that people think I'm a girl, isn't it about time mommy to give me a haircut ??

I found some new words this week "don't like it" (that's what my teacher says when I misbehave) and "awesome". I can say pretty much anything, even without verbs. This week one morning I talked with mommy' daddy eten ? (daddy eat ?), no daddy work, no eten.... I didn't feel very well, there was a lot of stuff coming out of my nose, and I was very hot so mommy and daddy stayed home with me. I did like it when they put some stuff on my chest and put the menthol in the outletplug, that smells so good and I sleep very well. I surprised mommy today by climbing on a very high plaything in the park. She wanted to help, but I wouldn't let her, I know how to do it !

I choose my own halloween costume; a monkey (how appropriate says Mommy), but I didn't want to wear it when she tried. But we had Halloween at school and ms Mel was able to put it on. I also wore it for trick or treating at night; that was so much fun, I didn't want to come home. I started coughing pretty bad yesterday and today I threw up. Guess there is something going on. It's a good thing I'll be home tomorrow to recuperate. I almost gotJulian's name right' I now call him "Duli", which he understands. But then; "hey" worked pretty good in the past too.

Can you believe I am almost 2 ?? Ofcourse I don't but I will repeat everything people say include real hard words (I abbreviate them then). I love talking gibberish to people and a few of my new words are; pizza, boven (up), woof, inside, jij (you). In San Diego I found out that I like rides, I'm not scared at all and just have fun. I'm getting a little picky with food, don't like my veggies that much anymore, except for corn, peas and carrots. I still love mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes, but miss Patty's food is pretty good too. Mommy left and I'm done nursing now. Well, sometimes I will just do it for comfort, but there is nothing there anymore, so most times I go without. Sometimes I get frustrated and kick or bite, it's really hard to be angry if you cannot talk. Today we went to a party and I was in the pool, that was great, but the dogs were very scary and they tried to eat my pizza !

School was closed all week, so I got to stay home with mom and dad, so much fun. They had to work a lot though and took away all my bins with water, not fair. I helped mommy a little bit by chalking on the front sidewalk and escaping from the house whenever I could. Sleeping in one room with Julian is a lot of fun. He gives me books to read when I don't want to sleep. Today I had my day with daddy, school is open again so Julian went but I got to be home another day.

I don't know what to think lately. It seems we had some things going on in the house, but I just slept through it all (thank goodness says mommy). But when I woke up it was a mess, although I like to play with the buckets and the water that is in the house everywhere now. Julian is sleeping in my room and that is very good, he can tell me stories and sing songs when I don't want to sleep. Today we bought my Halloween suit, it's a surprise but I chose it myself, but when mommy wanted me to try it at home I started crying, because it's so real !

We started counting in school and mommy noticed it right away. When she is warning me she counts" one, two, three" only now I do "two" for her and that makes her laugh. My favorite numbers are nine and six, I say those all the time. I learned words for house (huis) and on/off (aan/uit). I try to put my own shoes and socks on and drive daddy nuts when I tell him "no papa" (like 100 times). You love anything with an engine; cars, trains, but also lawnmowers and the vacuumcleaner. You get all excited when Barbara or I take it out of the closet. If our lawn people come with their big sit on top lawnmower, you pull a chair to the window and climb on it so you have the best view.

I'm beginning to understand some semi-abstract words like nat (wet), I say that when it rains and happy and sad. My mommy has been traveling and I was not happy about that. Daddy is very sweet but he has no milk ! So when she came back I just took up where I left...Julian and me have so much fun together. We dance and sing and he picks me up and carries me around (mommy is not too happy about that!) Sometimes we fight when we want the same book. I am quite fond of books, somebody has to read to me at night and I will ask for more books all the time. I've taken an interest in the potty. I haven't done anything yet, but it's fun to sit on it, especially when Julian joins me. We went out last Sunday and got to see some theater stuff, I was very impressed and very quiet. I didn't like the big mice though.

Want to hear more new words ? Mango, ik ook (me too), Eddie (don't ask) and pap (porridge). Today mommy made risotto and I just loved it. My big test is coming this week; mommy is leaving for a few days so I cannot nurse. But daddy is great; he always gives me a lot of milk in a bottle when mommy is not here, but I haven't done that in the morning. I can be very funny, but I also know how to get my way. Usually it works, but I think my parents are on to me, I got a few time outs this week !

I have a new word: bubbles. Learned that one at Gymboree. I also ask mommy and daddy to take a look at me (look) or sit down (sit) and even will say it nicely (pease) if they ask me to. I like eating all kinds of food together; today I had applesauce with a bun and cheese, swallow it with a little milk, perfect ! I am in Ms. Mel's class now and like it. I cry sometimes but that doesn't take long and when they come to get me I sometimes don't want to leave.

I've graduated from doing knee-foot on the stairs to 2 feet, it is pretty high, but I'm trying. I love doing everything my big brother does, even if it is silly or naughty ! When you ask me something I usually shrug my shoulders and say "don know !" with a real serious face. At Gymboree I love playing the instruments and getting stamps, I sit very nicely on my carpet square when it is time for stamps. My hair is getting long, but mommy doesn't want to cut it again. I'll be looking like a girl soon.

I am graduating to the toddler class ! I already went over to try it out and I like it. But they still need to drop me off with Ms. Laura for now. When they come to pick me up I sit very nicely on the rug and listen to the teacher who reads books or sings songs, a lot of fun. I know how to be gentle, but I still bite and scratch and poke, I don't understand it hurts yet. Anytime there is music I will dance and sometimes sing. Or I start screaming, not as pleasant.

I really don't understand it quite, my oma and opa were here for a while, then oma went somewhere else, but we could visit. I pushed all the buttons on the beds and tried to pry the airconditioning vent open. We brought games and books and cars, but that was pretty boring after a while. I also charmed all the nurses, they really loved me. Then oma came home, and we played a little bit and now we said goodbye. When we got home from the airport I was checking the hallway calling "oma" because I thought she was still here....Yes, I learned to say "oma" and "opa" in these last few weeks, just as oma predicted. I also learned paas (tandpasta (toothpaste), dono (I don't know) and I can stack blocks, but only the cylindrical ones. I sing when I'm in the car (la, la, and pat-pat) and now just say the dutch word for no.

I found out that I don't like fireworks. They had some really loud noises and so mommy had to bring me to bed, where I fell asleep right away. I was tired anyway; we had a party on Thursday and it was really late before I got to bed, and the same yesterday. I went to Gymboree today with daddy and Julian; mommy was in the hospital with oma. I love playing peekaboo with the curtain in oma's room though, it's a fun place, all the nurses talk to me.

Want to know my new words ? Hello, kaas (cheese), Yanna (Yannick), Schluss (german for done). I'm getting there and every day there is a new challenge. At least mommy and daddy know where to find me when I'm gone; I can climb up on the new playset all by myself. The slide is still a little scary, but no doubt I will get that too pretty soon. Grandma and grandpa are just wondering every day what I will do next. I love grandma's food and eat all of it, usually also second and third helpings. Today we had cake and I liked it, but only the fruit and I left the crust, no use for that.

Mondays are now daddy days because Julian goes to school. So my dad and I get to hang out together, watch soccer (not into that yet) and eat ! When going to the pool this week I liked it a lot better, I splashed and even sat down to play with some toys. I love helping mommy with watering the flowers, but she doesn't like it when I get all wet. I don't know what the problem is; it's hot outside !

My daddy is making sure that I like loud music, just like my brother. I got the beat going already with Metallica and iron Maiden, but mostly Normaal, a Dutch group. I get better at Gymboree all the time, it only took me a few minutes now to losen up. The thing is that I think that I'm getting mommy's milk if we sit down with me on her lap, but I guess that is not true. We went swimming today, but I cried the whole time. I don't get what the fun is. I love the tub andshower, but the pool is so cold ! My new word is "ducky and apple"

I am not such a big waterfan, I prefer the sand or just sitting on mommy lap even though she gets a little tired of it. I'm chewing on everything now; my fingers, the erasers from the pencils, a sponge, you name it and I will gnaw at it even if it doesn't taste good. We are going to Gymboree and this week I liked it a little more, I think I'm getting used to it. Now I will tell everybody when I have a poopy diaper (poo-poo and a big smile) so they don't have to wonder where the smell came from.

Mommy calls me a little monkey because I can climb on everything and this week I also learned the Dutch word for monkey : aap. I imitate everything including climbing up to Julian's bed and taking daddy's tools. So yes, they have to watch me all the time. I just love balloons and play with them all the time. I also just love music and like drumming and dancing. We went to a music class and that was a little weird. There were all these kids and they were singing songs. But it was better when they brought out the maraca's and then balls and then the best; bubbles !! So I think I will stay there.

I think mommy forgot me last week ! Now she has to try to remember what's happening in my life. Well, I can make some really funny sounds and start kind of talking. They don't always understand me, but poo-poo got a big laugh. Especially Julian thought that was hilarious. I also say 'ba' (Dutch for yuckie) and 'eten' (food). I'm also good with doing the consonants: pkpkpkpkpk and that sounds funny. I just love digging in the dirt, there is no mulch left at the spot where I always "help" mommy.

We have a full house with my uncle, aunt and 2 cousins here. So it's lots of fun, because I always have somebody to play with. I am always making a big fuzz when I need to have my teeth brushed. I still have only 6 teeth. The doctor says the rest will come, but it takes a long time !! I have a new word that sounds like "mauw" and it usually means something to drink (like milk). I also recognize and say babies.

I say "no" a lot lately; especially when mommy wants me to do something or get me to eat. It's very easy, NO, NO !! I've had lots of fun this week, when Julian's friends are here I want to do what they do, so I just imitate them. Yesterday that didn't go too well, because I fell in the pool, but daddy was prepared and got me out right away. I was kind of surprised, but it won't keep me away from it !

I really don't know why people think I am stubborn, me ??? Today I was on the bike and daddy was pushing me with the push bar, but then I decided that I wanted to push and don't touch that thing anymore. It's the same with vauuming, if I see the vacuum cleaner I have to do it, even though it's too heavy for me. I sometimes get in trouble because I bite. Especially Julian when he does something I don't like. Mommy already put me in time-out for that, I don't think she is supposed to do that !! Today I told mommy I wanted to sit on the toilet, so I did. I was already done with my business but still I liked sitting there like a big boy.

I learned a new word; ball. And when you ask me if I want to sleep I say and sign loud and clear "nee" (Dutch for no). When I sit at the table a certain way and mommy tries to put me back, I don't like that and push myself as I was before and then make sure she sees that. Mommy calls me cheeky, but I have no clue what that means. I've been helping a lot in the garden, with my own watering can I found out that I can basically bathe myself instead of watering the flowers.

I'm so glad I have an older brother so I can fight and take things from him, but also play with him and go with him to girls' parties ! I've picked up my eating again. Nowadays I eat a lot, yoghurt and bread for breakfast and I finish first with dinner. At school I've been doing fine too. Mommy is teaching me animal sounds and I can imitate her when she does the horse and the cow.

There is so much going on lately; we had easter celebration at school and did an egg hunt at home, we have visitors and I sometimes just want my mommy. Today was one of those days. I found a new sound too: ooh (oe in Dutch). I learned it because Julian and daddy keep singing this song called Oerend Hard. They go: "oe" and I do the same thing and everybody laughs. I also learned to blow raspberries and I love it when somebody massages my feet.

I am a perfect example of fast food. For me eating happens in between activities. I will run around, play, and then come back to the table now and then to get a bite. I don't think my parents like it though. Mommy doesn't have enough milk anymore to give some for school so I got regular (organic) milk this week. I was very surprised but I drank it all, so mommy doesn't have to feel too guilty. And I still get some in the mornings and as soon as she gets home ;) I love to help in the yard. I can take all the mulch and soil from the flowerbed and put it on the sidewalk, but it wasn't very much appreciated.

Well, I picked up eating dinner for a few days and yesterday I didn;t feel like it again. They've given up now. I didn't feel too well on Friday either, I threw up twice but in between and after I was perfectly fine. I was in the bike cart today. It's okay, but I don't like it when we stand still. We did stop at a playground with little stones, that was so much fun. We also went to a big playground on Friday and I climbed everything, even though it was for big kids. My hair was cut too ! I did not like it, at first it was okay, but when they put this cape around me and I couldn't see my hands I got real upset.
My vocabulary is expanding: papa, mama, nee (no), uh oh.

I'm driving my mommy nuts (her words, not mine) because I don't want to eat any warm dinner or lunch. Doesn't matter what she gives me, I just don't feel like it. She gets a little angry and won't let me have anything else than. Maybe it's because I still kind of miss my pacifier, or just because it's part of the whole phase thing. Otherwise i'm good, I play and talk and dance and sing. My favorite song is "klappen in de handjes", I know all the signs and today in the car I kept on asking for more. I also did sleep today, even though that is not my favorite pastime.

Now what do you think of this ? Mommy decided no more pacifier and I went cold turkey as of Friday. I keep on looking for it when I go to bed at night, but she won't give it to me. Maria was sweet; I cried and she gave it, but mommy is mean. I've been doing okay though. I can do without, but it's so much nicer with ! I still only have 6 teeth, but I've been very snotty and clingy so mommy thinks there are more coming. Doesn't matter to me, I will eat anything, especially salmon.

I am okay at school when I need a drink, I just drink water and 1 bottle of momma's milk, but when she is around I cannot do without ! I get really cranky if I don't get my milk. I love to walk, but it's not going very fast yet, so usually I have to ride in the stroller. Sometimes mommy will carry me in the sling which is especially nice when I'm tired. Today we saw animals and that was fun. I loved seeing the baby elephant and baby giraffe !

These signs really come in handy now and then. I can get a banana, food, more, water, shoes, socks and my pacifier and today I practiced fish. I also make the sign for yum (good food), but mommy thought first I was waving goodbye all the time, you have to tell them everything. I have a great time putting lids on pots and jars. Same goes for my sippy cup, but unfortunately I do that too when there is something in there, so we had a big spill yesterday. Today I walked a lot looking at the fish, they were really great.

I am so hungry all the time ! Sometimes I don't like what mommy gives me, but sweet potatoe is always a hit as well as fruit and now corn ! I also tried kiwi yesterday and now I did like it. I love going on my bike with Julian, I just don't like wearing the helmet. We were in the woods today and I just wanted to sit down and pick up all the twigs and stones, but I had to walk. I didn;t like that.

I don't know what the deal is; for some reason I am not allowed to only eat applesauce and yoghurt and fruit all day, but they feed me stuff like veggies and pasta and fish ! It's okay, but if I had a choice I knew what I want ! I love to play hide and seek with my brother, he is very good at it though and sometimes i have a hard time finding him, but then he just calls me and it's a lot easier. Mommy still hasn't had my hair cut and everybody tells me I'm a girl; how about it mommy ?? (note from mommy; Yannick looks so cute with his curly blond hair in the back ! :)

I had to go to school again this week and I don't like it when they leave me there. I'm okay as soon as mommy or daddy are gone, but just for good measure I have to cry first. We went biking a lot this weekend, first on Saturday and I got to sit in the little cart. That was okay, but when Julian joined me I ran out of space ! Then today, when I got to ride my own bike (with helmet), I cannot go fast enough. We also had a party at a restaurant today and that was fun, especially when mommy let me eat her cake.

Can you believe that I'm 13 months already ? Mommy sure can't. I've developed some interesting habits when they don't give me what i want; I bite ! Unfortunately mommy tells me no then and let's me bite my own hand. I get very angry if I don't get my way, can you blame me. I've learned some new nice things too; I turn around when I hear music (and get dizzy), go up the stairs on my own and play with Julian's cars all the time. I also am able to sit on the trike, even though I cannot reach the pedals yet. Canada was great, I was a little afraid of Naish, the dog, at first, but at the end I even dared to pat him real quick.

Now that I've reached the ripe old age of 1 there is plenty of new adventures. I've been talking up a storm, lately I say a word that sounds very familiar to the Dutch food (eten), but nobody is sure if that's what I mean. Fact is that I will keep quiet if you give me some food :) I love throwing with things, especially from the high chair if I don't like my food, but otherwise I'm pretty mellow. Oh wait, mommy just tells me I also don't like diaper changes or getting out of the bath, all true ! I like school though and enjoy pushing the walkers and anything else, like the laundry basket at a friend's house today. Hopefully I will see my first snow in a few days, I can't wait !

happy Birthday to me ! Yeah, I turned one today and a great year it was. We got to celebrate with my Dutch grandparents, but my other opa and oma were on skype. When I hear the skype calling I run to the office to see them. I got a drumkit, just like Julian and also a chair like him, so now we can play together. A lot of friends came and we ate macaroni and cheese that Julian made (I liked it) and muffins. Mommy made me a crown, but at the end of the party I got really tired and needed to go to bed.

I went back to school this week and my teachers were very surprised at how well I walk (and talk !). I stayed at home on Wednesday and went walking with grandma and Julian and I just love to play with everybody. I didn't feel that well last night' mommy thinks it my teeth coming through. I have 4 and 2 more are visible, it's no fun. In 2 more weeks I will be having a birthday. Mommy sent out the invitations already and there are some big boxes in the house that I'm not allowed to look in.

We're home again, finally. I liked Florida, but I had to sleep on the floor for a few nights (not that it bothered me, I just slept as good as I always do) and then we went to another place with big soft beds. We got balloons and all kinds of toys there and everybody thought I was cute. My walking is getting better all the time, and I get fast too (take that mommy). I eat a lot of stuff and just love fruit. Now my oma and opa are here and that's fun because I got to stay home all week while they looked after me.

Mommy has been cooking lots of new stuff; one of my favorites is
oatmeal with apple and dates, yummy ! We went to the doctor on Friday, my ear
hurt and I did not like it at all that I had to be almost naked all the time.
Luckily mommy brought the sling so the doctor was okay with checking me while I
was in there. I love playing my xylophone and the drums. Especially Julian's
drumkit is fun, but today I wanted to play and got hit by the falling snare
drum, ouch.

I figured out that I can crawl through a tunnel and upstairs, so much to explore. I also hit 2 milestones exactly on the day I turned 10 months, i clapped my hands and I walked all by myself for 8 steps. I still do it now and then and get better at it all the time, but it's a lot of effort, I'd rather scoot and crawl, that's faster for now. I really like cheesecake as well as rice pudding. Unfortunately they don't let me have it except to taste, so unfair !

I will tell you a secret; if you want to make sure I'm happy you better give me something to eat ! Today mommy fed me 2 bowls of yoghurt with pear and some cereal for breakfast and I still wanted more, but I didn't get it. I think she's afraid I get to big. I stole some cheeto's today and I ate them too. Besides that I still enjoy the occasional bite of potting soil, it's really not appreciated enough in this house. I won't lay still for diaper changes, drives my daddy bananas !

Lots of fun things I can do now; crawl up the stairs (it's quite a trip), walk behind the little wagon, sign "more", put things in and out of a box or basket. I also like taking the clothes out of my baskets in my room when mommy puts them in. I love playing with Julian because he always makes funny faces, but sometimes he takes my toys, not fair ! I found out I can drum andI got a little xylophone. Unfortunately the music classes were cancelled again so I will have to self-educate.

Balloons are fun ! I got one today and thought it was great. Mom got goosebumps because I kept on putting my nails on it and biting it ! I have 2 teeth now, so I can really bite (and I do). It doesn't matter when it comes to eating, because I will chew with a finger in my mouth, that definetely helps. I'm having some trouble going to bed lately. I don't like it anymore when mommy just puts me in the crib, she needs to hold me and rock me to sleep first.

A few more weeks and I will be walking. I can stand up for a little while and have no problem pulling myself up at anything. They put a gate at the stairs, which is not fair. I can look through it but I cannot go down the stairs. I can go up though, but it's taking me a while still. I really like "talking" to all my grandparents especially if I can see them as well. I can wave bye, but only will do it for special people (like my teachers at school).

I can pull myself up at the table (or anything that's a little tall actually) and then start going around it. I found these interesting things called drawers and I like potting soil (mommy doesn't). They put my crib down so I cannot look over the top anymore, but I found out I can drop my pacifier and then scream so they will come to get it for me ! I was so glad to see daddy again, and he was too I think.

I'm cruising !! Yeah mom, too bad, you cannot just put me down anymore and expect me to stay, I'm going places ! I love the paperbasket in the office and the cords from the computer. The candles and remotes are also great fun. I can stand for a few seconds so I want to practice that all the time. Every time the phone rings or I hear other people talking (like my grandma in the Skype today) i start screaming :"baba", because I think it's daddy ! I wonder when he comes out of that thing. I get a little moody if I don't see Julian, I want to play with him all the time.

Can anybody tell me why this crawling business is so hard ! I can do it, but only go backwards ! Then I just roll and get where I want anyway. More new foods: avocado, raspberries and pancake. When somebody calls I say "baba", mommy thinks because daddy is gone and I hope to find him in that thing. It does sound a little like him sometimes. I have to find out why the people in my house make all these signs, I don't get it. I try to do something, but they just laugh, why don't they just say it ??

More progress in crawling, I scooted forward on mommy and daddy's bed, but in general I think it's a lot of work for not a lot of gain. I love drumming too and sometimes when I hear music I already have the head banging thing going on. I just love my mommy, when I'm tured or upset I want only here. Daddy makes me laugh though, so that's fun too. At school I walk on a little car, Ms Pat thinks it's very cute.

Okay, I give in; I am trying to crawl. I kind of get up on my knees, but it's not going very fast. I'd rather hold on to somebody and then pull myself up to standing, it's way more fun ! More new foods; litchi's and icecream, yum ! I am full of talk sometimes and I have a lot of fun with Julian especially when we are in the car, we laugh all the time. Mommy is surprised that my eyes are still blue and my hair is still blond. She thinks I may have inherited the eyes from both grandma's, the hair; well, daddy was blond too when he was small, so that's not that strange.

I'm quite the mommy's boy, when she is around I want to be with her. My daddy is perfectly fine when she is not around, don't get me wrong, but he doesn't have any milk ! I've been getting lots of food, cereal with fruit and all kinds of stuff for dinner or lunch. I still don't feel like crawling, although it's very frustrating not to be able to get around. I love standing on the couch and looking over the backrest, that is just so much fun !

Life is just full of surprises, I found out that these legs are good to stand on and I can do that while grabbing on to the table. Ofcourse it's best when there is something on the table that I can get like the remote or a catalog from mommy that I love to tear up and eat when I'm done tearing. I've been practicing chewing mommy's cheek, I don't think she likes it a whole lot, because she gave me something else to chew on which is not as soft. I fell from the shopping cart Saturday because Julian was trying to climb on to see me. Luckily I was in my carseat all buckled up and nothing happened.

I can talk ! When I want to eat or drink something I see I say "oooh" and guess what I want when I say "mama" ? I can also wave, but not if you tell me to. I think my mommy is putting my toys just out of reach on purpose. I have to reach way over to get them, but if it's too far I just leave them. I know she hopes I will crawl, but she can wait for a long time !

I discovered the letters B and T, and they make funny sounds. I also want to chew on everything, (mostly food, see last week), because my teeth are bothering me. I prefer to stand instead of sit and don't like the tummy time that much anymore. If I see food, I want it, doesn't matter what it is, so I've been getting yoghurt, cheese and some breadsticks, it all tasted great. I found out that he mobile above the changing table can move, so mommy shoves it and I try to catch it and then chew on it, sometimes it works.

I love to eat ! If it were up to me I would eat a lot more, but mommy won't let me :( I was supposed to get a passport, but my birth certicate was wrong; I don't get it, I'm here, I was born, so why can that be wrong ? Yesterday we went to a restaurant with some people. It was fun, I sat in the highchair and got food and could play with some of my toys or toss them over the side where Greg kept picking them up; nice guy. Tomorrow i will be 7 months already. I talk a lot too now, especially when I'm playing on my own.

I was sick enough that mommy and daddy took me to the doctor. He said I had a virus and so I had to take this very yucky medicine. At first I thought it wasn't too bad, it smelled good, but man it tasted aweful ! Now I'm better even though I still have a runny nose. I like this sitting up thing more and more. Mommy will put me down and give me a box of toys and I can keep myself occupied as long as she doesn't show her face too much. At school I've been spending some time in Julian's class as well; all the kids (and the teachers) just adore me !

I manage to sit up all by myself now as of yesterday. I figured I didn't need any help anymore. I just don't like to sit too long, on my back is still best ! I also learned how to make more noises; like clapping on my tummy and saying da-da. I didn't feel too well yesterday, so I slept in mommy's bed. I tried again tonight, but she is not giving in...Only my ducky to keep me company during the night.

It's very strange; sometimes I cannot stop talking (this afternoon I even had to scream because I wanted Julian to wake up), but most of the day I am pretty quiet. I got very good at eating my cookie, it's gone before mommy notices. I also know what;s coming when mommy gets my food from the fridge. I just had to make clear to her that I do not like it cold !! Green beans are okay too, but I prefer the fruit. My diapers are getting a lot more stinky, ha, ha. Daddy had to clean me up today when I was going in the shower, that will teach him.

I guess sometimes it takes a few tries before I like things; I love the applesauce I got the last few days and I also very much like the Liga (Dutch baby cookies) even though it's hard to eat and everything will be covered in crumbs and wet stuff ! I'm going swimming sometimes, I have a great sunsuit (thanks Linda) and wore that to the big pool. Today I got into the little pool with Julian and splashed with my feet, that was so funny. Ms. Pat put me in a little car at school and she drove in the hallway with me.

My food discoveries are progressing; I like carrots, sweet potatoes and pears, peas are not my favorite. Yesterday I got a bottle with some water, I wanted to drink, but I couldn't; mommy put the lid on ! I hold my own bottle now and love eating my toes and putting my hand all the way in my mouth. I heard the funniest sound this week; mommy uncorked a bottle of wine, I had to laugh so hard ! I weigh 16 lbs already and fit into 6-9 month clothes now. It's going fast !

I learned something new today; I can roll from my back to my belly, watch out world, here I come. Mom keeps on trying to give me other food; yesterday it was applesauce, not a succes either. But then I saw Julian eating an apple and I wanted that too. So mom put some in this little bag she got from her friend Linda and that was pretty good. She does not understand yet that I want to do it myself ! I was pretty good at school after Tuesday, drank all my milk and fooled Ms. Pat by rolling around to get from the mat she just put me on, ha, ha !

Well, we're home again. I sure miss everybody, it was so nice having always someone to play with or cuddle with. I can now almost roll from my back to my belly and I grasp things (especially fingers) pretty easy. I also make funny sounds when I see somebody eating, so mommy thought I was ready for solids. Well, forget about that. I did not like the rice cereal, nor the banana. Maybe also because I got kind of sick and had a fever. Yesterday daddy tried to give me bottles with milk. Bottles ??? I want the real stuff, what happened to that ? Today I had to go back to school and Ms Pat and Ms Maria were really glad to see me so to help them a little bit I drank some from the bottle, but not everything !

Both me and Julian were sick this week. I had some weird diapers and had to throw up. But I'm okay now and full of smiles. I now move my head from side to side when I hear music, that is so funny ! I love singing and music and love it especially when I'm being changed. I try to sit up, but I fall over after a while even when they put pillows to keep me upright !

This week was my first week at school. I didn't like it too well. First of all daddy took me for shots on Monday, never good. Then on Tuesday I did not feel well and mommy came and got me from school so I got to spend the rest of the day with her. On wednesday it was okay, but I didn't want to eat. They didn't know I only eat in the bouncing chair. I guess they finally figured it out on thursday and that was a pretty good day. My big brother is so funny ! I always have to laugh when he makes silly faces or plays peekaboo with me.

Well, this is it. No more visitors, I had so much fun with oma Herma, we played and walked outside and she walked around with me when I cried or fussed, but she had to go home. Mommy brought me to school for 2 days; she was crying, but I was fine. Ms. Pat took good care of me and I played and on Thursday I already fell asleep in my crib. Mommy bought me the exact same ducky I have at home so I can take it to school with me. Sometimes I still have some crying spells when I don't want to eat or sleep or anything; I just want to be held !

Mommy went back to work ! And now I need to take bottles. It's not too bad because my grandparents are here and my grandma has a real knack with the bottle so I will take it from her. I get to stay at home for a little while and then go to Julian's school. They are already asking when I'm coming. I can roll over now from belly to back and really like sitting up. I also start to do a kind of crawl. I grab things and can entertain myself pretty well on my playmat or in the bouncer. I talk more and more but they still don't seem to get it all. I love to chew on fingers and my own hand, it fits completely in my mouth !! I still like to wake up a few times during the night and get my food, my parents are getting kind of tired, but hey, I'm hungry !

Mommy got rid of the first batch of clothes already, she says it doesn't fit anymore, and I must say, it got a little snug there. Fortunately there is plenty more, but I think she is sad that I grow so fast. We have such a good time during the week; we play a lot and she reads books to me, we go outside and she carries me around in the sling when she is peeling potatoes or doing yardwork. On tuesdays we have lunch with other mommies and babies, but they can crawl and walk and like my toys a lot !

I made the 3 month mark, now the real fun can begin. I laugh a lot, especially when daddy looks at me or Julian dances. I grab things from my bouncy seat and also any fingers or hands that are in the vicinity because I want to chew them !! I will pull myself up to sitting when you hold both my hands and try to roll over when I'm on my belly. I've been trying out a new sleeping thing, where I don't get any food in the middle of the night. Not sure if I like that yet, but just to please mommy and daddy I slept from 8 pm till 6 am last night. They got all worried thinking something was wrong, but I was just tired.

Every week there is something else. Now one of my eyes is not right, they think it's a clogged tear duct so there is all kind of yellow stuff coming out of it. I also want something to chew on because my (hidden) teeth are bothering me already. When mommy puts her finger in my mouth I gnaw pretty hard. I love the mobile above my changing table and the singing ducky in the office, that will always make me smile.

I still have trouble getting into my "rhythm". Mommy thinks it's: changing, eating, playing, sleeping, but that last part doesn't always work that well for me. I love to play though and try to hit the things they show me. I also have managed to wiggle myself out of the bouncy seat, that will teach them to leave me in that thing. Today I giggled out loud and mommy thought it was the funniest thing. I got shots, and even though I cried I think I took it like a trooper. The nurses all thought I was so cute they wanted to hold me afterwards, that's fine with me.

I get tummy time every day and can keep my head up pretty good. My cold is still not gone and it makes everybody very unhappy because I don't sleep a whole lot. I love to play with Julian and mommy; they show me all these things that rattle and sqeak and have wonderful colors.

I am not too happy, there is stuff coming out of my nose so I can't breathe, horrible ! And then they try to take it out with this thing, even worse. I go on lots of outings with mommy and sometimes daddy and Julian. We saw other babies on tuesday and we went walking almost every day. I love the stroller, it gives me a chance to catch up on my sleep. I smile a lot more now too and when I lie down and somebody holds my hands I try to pull myself up, but that's not working yet, very frustrating.

I love my pacifier ! It helps me when my tummy hurts or when mommy doesn't want to nurse me ! So you'll see a lot of pictures of me and my "tut". I try to sit up when I am on somebody's lap and I can follow stuff with my eyes. I smile a lot when I see my brother Julian, he is always so silly !I have a cold so my parents try to use this thing again to suck my nose, that really sucks !! Mommy is covered in scratches from me; even though she trimmed my nails, I can still scratch her good.

They checked me out again on Monday and I weighed 12 lbs ! That was with clothes, but still, pretty good for 6 weeks. Everybody knows me as a real mellow guy by now, because when I'm in the carseat I sleep, a lot. Take me out and then we have some other things to do. I love it when my brother Julian plays with me, that's when I smile most. Mommy thinks that playing music for me is good; so she puts on this flute stuff when she puts me in my own bed. I think I like it, except when it's done and I'm not asleep yet !

I can smile ! I still have to practice a lot and nobody has been able to catch me with the camera, but I definetely do it. Especially in the morning when I get a clean diaper or when mommy blows in my face. Not at night, when I'm still having trouble with my tummy. I'm starting to grow out of the smallest size clothes already. They weighed me and I'm over 11 lbs, it would be more if mommy would give me some more food !

What happened to all the people here in the house that held and cuddled me all the time, they are gone ! Well mommy and daddy and Julian are still here, but I don't remember those other people they call my grandparents not being here since I was born. I am getting quite big; and chunky ! Mommy found that fennel is not good for me, so I do not get the gripewater and/or drops anymore, that stinks. The funny thing is that in the Netherlands they advice against the fennel, but they don't in the US, so what's up with that. So now I just have to cry through my cramps or get chamomille tea, which is not as good as the other stuff. I stay awake longer every day and sometimes mimick mommy when she sticks out her tongue. I also respond when I hear voices.

Well, I sure was born right on time, this is a good time of year. Presents keep arriving for me but most of it is still too big for me. My stomach hurts sometimes really bad. I get gripewater and/or drops for it, but it doesn't always work. Everybody feels very bad for me, but they don't make it go away and I get really upset about it. I like to fall asleep in mommy's or daddy's arms, that is so comfortable.

Got my first parties under my belt. My parents decided that my arrival was no reason to take it easy so yesterday a lot of people came over (I did not like that my brother made such a lot of noise when I was trying to sleep !) and today we went to some other thing, but I slept through most of it and then peed on my clothes during changing so they had me totally naked in this cold restroom; evil people. I am awake a little more and I had my first bath (not good), and my first shower with mommy (better).

It's amazing out here, even though I haven't really seen a lot, I prefer to sleep (and snore !) At night I am having some trouble with my stomach, mommy gets quite upset too, but I cannot help it. They give me some stuff that seems to help, but man, it hurts ! I like sleeping in my parents bed, that is nice and cozy, but I also sleep in my crib already. Today was the first time I decided not to cry while being changed, that was a nice surprise for mommy. The house looks great, lights everywhere so that is really exciting.

Well, here I am ! A little early according to the "official" calendars, but right up mommy's alley. I had quite an audience at my birth; mom and dad, my big brother Julian, grandma and grandpa from the Netherlands (they flew in a few hours before my birth), friend Madeleine, doula Leigh and the Nativiti staff; Kathryn and Jamie. I was born in the bath tub at exactly 11 pm. I shot like a rocket and daddy keeps insisting I actually hit my head on the bottom of the tub, but I think he is just joking. We went home a few hours later and things have been good since then. I am being fed, held (a lot), changed (do NOT like that) and cuddled so what does a guy 3 days old want more ? My grandparents are staying till after New Year's and everybody is really happy about that. I have mommy typing this up while I am snoring in the sling, the life !!
